Tragedy sometimes starts something good... something that reaches out. Helps others. Becomes a mission with a purpose.
That's how "Wreaths of Love" began... It started with beautifully handmade burlap and ribbon wreaths on a hangable metal frame. It started because we lost our dear friend Lisa to breast cancer and the wreaths were a way to help establish a scholarship fund for graduating seniors in her memory... in her name. It began as we hugged and loved on her four beautiful children... children I had in my care for twenty years as their babysitter, their daycare provider, their "Ruthy".
But when others saw those beautiful pink "FIGHT LIKE A GIRL!" wreaths, they began asking for other wreaths. Colon cancer... Alzheimer's... Sarcoma... and then Christmas! Easter! St. Patrick's Day! Fourth of July/Memorial Day patriotic wreaths! Back the Blue! Autism Awareness!
Hundreds of spools of ribbon later, the gals from the farm have been sending them out all over the country from Facebook orders. It only makes sense to add a page to Ruthy's bookstore!
Wreaths are $80.00. Boxing and shipping are included in the price! $5.00 from each wreath sold goes directly into the Lisa Tydings Memorial Scholarship fund. Wreaths are created with an assortment of beautiful ribbons on a natural burlap base. Burlap "tea-stains" when exposed to light. This is not a flaw but the beauty of using natural materials, like vintage papers. Our wreaths are approximated 18"-20" wide, perfect for doors, porches and walls. Imagine our Ivory, Sage & Roses on a bedroom wall or an "All American" on your front porch or door!
Wreaths last for months or years, depending on where they're displayed...
Sure, you can send a vase of flowers to someone you love... to someone struggling or someone rejoicing! That floral arrangement is lovely and similarly priced, but flowers fade in days...
